Quinte Youth Theatre
Quinte Youth Theatre
QYT is a vibrant, inclusive community program founded by Crystal and Annastacia, the Directors of Ontario Dance Academy, dedicated to empowering youth through the performing arts.
Run entirely by volunteers from Ontario Dance Academy and relying on the generous support of the community, QYT offers young performers the opportunity to explore their talents in singing, dancing, acting, stagecraft, and more—all at no cost to participants.
Our mission is to foster creativity, teamwork, and confidence in a welcoming environment where every individual can shine. QYT productions range from beloved classics to innovative new works, providing participants hands-on experience in all aspects of theatre, including singing, dancing, acting, set design, lighting, and stage management.
Committed to excellence and accessibility, QYT strives to inspire a lifelong love of the arts while creating unforgettable memories for both performers and audiences. Join us as we bring stories to life and celebrate the power of community through the magic of theatre!
How Our Program Works
As a free program, QYT operates based on funding, and we are able to run when we meet our funding needs. Generally, we hold auditions in June, with weekly rehearsals taking place throughout the summer and fall. Our program culminates in a full-length musical theatre production late Fall, providing participants with a valuable, hands-on theatre experience. Additionally, we often offer short 4-6 week sessions throughout the year, ending in mini-performance opportunities as available, allowing participants to showcase their skills in a fun and supportive environment.
